Easy Wedding Cake Tasting at Patty’s Cakes

We were offered a wedding cake through this establishment when we opted for a package deal through Orange Hill Restaurant. It was easy to call, explain who we were and what package we had through the restaurant, and make an appointment at our convenience.

Upon arrival, we did not wait long before Philip Gomez greeted us, and went over what we could get, and if we wanted it “fancier” the costs associated with those upgrades. We were offered water to go along with some of the samples we’ve selected.

Philip was very thorough, highly detailed, and answered our questions succinctly and concisely. We were given all logistical information after selecting our cake, and during the actual event, everything was done and went through without a hitch.

Oh, and the cake? Absolutely delicious and still so good when we took a bunch of it home. Would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for wedding cake options.

Honestly I’m not a big cupcake fan. Usually the frosting is overly sweet, too. But patty’s cupcakes are actually good! They use mousse instead of frosting, which is lighter and less sweet. It’s fluffy too! The cake is also moist and delicious. I’ve tried the butter pecan, and I love it. The warm apple is really delicious and there’s a great buttery pecan flavor. Today I tried the seasonal pumpkin cupcake with cream cheese frosting. SO DELICIOUS. cake is moist and dense, cream cheese frosting is great. There’s a lot of pumpkin flavor! Love it. I’ve also tried the red velvet cream cheese, love the cream cheese mousse, and the vanilla with vanilla mousse (classic, but it’s good). I’ve also tried the confetti cake ball, which is dense and sweet and very…. confetti-ey. (I really enjoyed that when I was little) I don’t eat cakes very much, and I’m not a big fan, but a little treat once in a while is always nice

Oh my goodness! Mother/Son partners Patty and Phillip were amazing from Day One. We had called many vendors for cake and tasting before meeting with and eventually hiring Patty’s Cakes and Desserts, and I wasn’t thrilled with the other company’s responses, tableside manner or professionalism. Then, I called and spoke with Phillip – who right off the bat, took the time to listen to my many questions, schedule a tasting (all within a short amount of time) and deal with my little ones during our visit.

Then after our meeting, when I called with more questions – he graciously answered every one of them without reservation or hesitation.

Finally, we placed the order and arranged for pickup (because our venue is outside of their delivery area) by my brother – and both Phillip and Patty assured me that everything will go smoothly, the assembly of the cake will be clear and easy – and most importantly, the cake itself will meet or beat every expectation of my bride and our guests. I can’t thank them enough for a job well done!”

Large Cupcakes at a Great Price

I love how this place doesn’t make their cupcakes super sweet. They also pipe the cupcakes fresh when you order them which is a plus. I got the lemon razzel cupcake. The cupcake was moist and soft and not too tart or sweet. The cupcakes were $3 each with the fourth cupcake free if you order 3 and check-in on yelp. Overall the cupcakes match my taste buds (I’m the type of person that always asks for half sweet or less sweetener at boba places) and the price of the cupcake matches the quality, size and taste so I think it’s definitely worth it and I will be coming again to try their other desserts.

Wonderful Bakery with Delicious Wedding Cakes

This bakery is wonderful. Their cakes are delicious and I say this because I had my wedding cake done here and my husband bought a small cake for us for our one year anniversary.

They have many options for a custom cake with many different flavors to choose from. My wedding cake was actually pretty awesome because I was able to choose two different cake flavors so I had red velvet and lemon cake with raspberry Bavarian custard filling. So if you are looking for your dream wedding cake, anniversary, or whatever you might be celebrating I can completely vouch for this bakery.

Cupcake and Cake Flavors are AMAZING at Patty’s Cakes

To start, if you like super sweet cupcakes, this is NOT the place for you. Patty’s uses a mousse topping rather than buttercream. The mousse is lighter and easier to store and work with, but is also lighter in flavor and sweetness.

I got 3 cupcakes and 2 cake balls. The cake balls are a little overpriced ($3 each, the same as the cupcakes and about 1/8 the size). The confetti cake ball had good flavor but was also slightly grainy and still had the taste and texture of raw flour in the middle. The chocolate chip cake ball was moist and sweet and was probably the best item I had.

I got 2 chocolate cupcakes and 1 red velvet. All cupcakes have a whipped cream in the middle of them matching the flavor of the mousse. The lemon was eaten by a friend before I got to try it.

Chocolate cupcake with chocolate mousse and caramel on top- The cake was very flavorless. It was moist, but I really couldn’t taste anything in the cake itself. The chocolate mousse was very tasty and light, and the salted caramel on top was the true hero of this cupcake. The caramel saved it.

Red velvet cupcake with chocolate chip mousse- As opposed to the chocolate cake, the red velvet was PACKED with flavor. Very moist and delicious. Unfortunately, the mousse lacked flavor, but the chocolate chips made up for it.

Chocolate cupcake with peanut butter mousse- Again, the cake lacked a strong flavor. The peanut butter mousse had a fluffy and light peanut butter taste and crunchy peanuts on top. Overall a decent cupcake.

The store itself was very clean, had many options, and staff was friendly and made sure I knew all of the options available. The cupcakes were good, but I sorely missed the buttercream frosting, although the mousse was a nice change. Overall 4/5, I will most likely return but not very often.

The best cupcakes in the whole entire world. The service is great the place is super clean the sweets are delicious. I just recently found out that they make birthday cakes wedding cakes and cakes for all kinds of occasions. This place is not just known for their cupcakes they’re known for cakes for all occasions . Look no more! Patty has the BEST cake and cupcakes you will ever find. They are absolutely delectable. These cakes have been a part of every family milestone including my wedding. I prefer the chocolate cake with bavarian custard or raspberry filling. My husband prefers the lemon cake. Don’t forget to teat yourself to a yummy cake ball when visiting, my children love the confetti cake balls while I look forward to the Germans Chocolate. All this typing and I didn’t even mention the super friendly and helpful staff. All around better than 5 stars!

I wanted to surprise my girlfriend for her birthday with a customized cake and stumbled upon Patty’s Cakes and Desserts website. I was able to order a customized cake online with an edible picture of us by simply uploading an image online. I couldn’t have been more happy with how the confetti cake turned out. Not only was it beautiful prepared, but it was also super delicious. Will definitely be getting future cakes here!

We had Patty’s Cakes make our cake for our wedding and it was one of the best decisions we made! They made us a beautiful naked cake along with 60 mini cupcakes. We should have ordered 100 more because they got eaten so fast some people never even saw they were out. Philip was super helpful and I’m only recommending them for wedding cakes for all my friends. Patty’s Cake is awesome!!! If I could give them more stars, I would. First, they were very easy to talk to. I purchased a package with my venue and their choice of bakery was Patty’s and it’s not hard why. The cake was everything I wanted and more. It was moist, and not too sweet and the filling just mix will together.

We had the yellow cake with raspberry Bavarian cream filling and my guest raved about how delicious it was. As a matter of fact my cousins wanted it for their birthday party (unfortunately they live out of state). I would definitely recommend them to every bride I know.

Great, moist cupcakes that are NOT TOO SWEET! Yes, I know cupcakes are supposed to be sweet, but sugar restraint is what makes Patty’s outstanding. Why?

After attending countless weddings, planning my own engagement party and then wedding, plus a couple of kids with lots of birthdays, I’ve eaten endless varieties of cakes. Almost all bakeries create sugar overkill that ruins the taste and covers up lower quality ingredients. Plus, such friendly service! The lady who prepared our box added a “Happy Birthday” sign on one of the cupcakes when I’d mentioned that we were buying these cupcakes for my little girl’s BD. I didn’t even ask…what a nice touch! We chose 5 different flavors and my daughter loved them!

The Elvis: My hubby said “It’s ok.” Hah! I should have eaten it! How can you beat Bacon + PB?
Banana: Chunky bits of banana. Thumbs up from BD girl.
Pink Frosting & Chocolate Cake: BD girl favorite for baby pink color. To be fair, she loves all things pink but I tried the chocolate cake…its very moist and not too sweet, both equally important for the perfect cupcake!
Coconut: Comes with an umbrella. Yummy and cute!
Mint Chocolate Chip: My personal favorite so far.

The location is not next door for us, and there are a few quality bakeries between us and the 20 min it takes to drive to Patty’s, but we will be back!!!

Such a cute cupcake shop!!! It’s a must try!!! The cupcakes are moist and delicious. The shop is airy, VERY clean, and pretty in pink. The staff was very nice and knowledgeable. They decorate seasonally which gives it a nice personal touch. I haven’t had their cakes but they look really cute and I’m sure delicious.
