Found Patty’s Cakes by searching for a nearby bakery with gluten-free cupcakes for our daughter’s 2nd birthday. We got her a vanilla cupcake with strawberry frosting, and she LOVED it. She’s not really a sugary frosting type of kid, and Patty’s Cakes knows how to make delicious “just right” frosting. My wife and I sampled a bunch of others too. My fav was the mint chocolate chip, hers was the lemon. 4 stars only because the cake portion of the cupcake was good, but not off-the-charts great like we’ve had at just a couple other cupcake specialty shops. Great customer service, good buying experience, we will definitely be coming back.

This is not just a cupcake shop, it is THEE cupcake shop! Yesterday I had the grand opportunity to experience it for the first time! The shop was beautiful and the staff members were extremely friendly! I ordered a Chocolate Caramel Salty and oh my goodness… It was BEYOND AMAZING. The Chocolate Caramel Salty was a super moist chocolate cupcake with a dab of buttercream frosting in the center topped with a generous amount of thickly piped chocolate fudge icing drizzled with a heaping tablespoon of delicious salted caramel. YUM! I was completely blown away by each bite consumed! I will most definitely be returning soon! Thank you Patty for sharing your lovely baked goods with dessert lovers like me! :)

I ordered my wedding cake from Patty’s cakes. I had lemon and white cake. Patty even made the lemon flavor purple to match my wedding colors! It was amazing. Even though my day flew and I barely got to eat any of this amazing cake, all my guests raved about how delicious and moist the cake was and the purple lemon was a pleasant surprise!
Patty and her staff are so easy to work with! She makes sure you get EXACTLY what you want on your special day. It is all about YOU! Her staff showed up right on time and set it up with ease and no stress! I would definitely recommend Patty and Patty’s Cakes for any occasion!

Absolutely to die for!! I love cupcakes but hates anything overly too sweet. Got
a dozen for my girls bday of 10 different flavors and everybody fell in love with
them! Not only that all employees were super sweet and accommodating!!

LOVED my wedding cake so much! From the design to the flavor…it was perfection. We ended up choosing the lemon cake with Bavarian cream and raspberry filling (their “Razzle” cupcake if you ever want to drop in a try it). AMAZING. When I used to think lemon cake…I words that would come to mind were “tart” or “too sweet”….but no, Patty’s was light and delightful. The guests loved it and one of them even told me they had 4 slices!
Philip made the whole process easy and smooth. From cake tasting and communicating with me regarding any details….we had no problems. I decided to have fresh flowers to decorate my cake and Patty made it so beautiful. Everything I imagined and more. And prices were much reasonable than the other bakery I inquired about :)
Thank you Patty and Philip for making the process so easy and making our wedding cake so beautiful and DELICIOUS! (BTW–got a lemon cake ball when I dropped off my cake stands and it was delish! I’ll be back whenever I’m in the area!)

I’ve driven by dozens of times and finally stopped in to check it out. I was expecting to see rows and rows of cupcakes but instead some small, ball-shaped cakes are displayed, some wedding cakes and shelves of decorative items. The sales lady showed me how to order (from a large menu on the wall behind the counter). There are many choices but my favorite flavor (from another cupcake place) wasn’t on the menu. I asked the sales lady, ” Do you have something similar to a Strawberry Lemonade flavor?” She could have just politely said “no sorry we don’t”. Instead, to my surprise, she said ” We can make something like that for you!” I said, “Right now?” she said “Yes!”. I’m very happy because I’m sure she isn’t the owner here, she didn’t have to do this, but she went beyond her way just trying to accommodate the customer. For this alone, I’d give the place a “yay!
The reason I give 4 stars is because the decorations on the cupcakes can be a little more attractive, creative, colorful…etc. All the cream is piped the same way with a little sugar sprinkles on top. I’ve had much more creatively decorated ones, so it’s a little boring here. Another reason is that, the cupcakes, although very fresh, has just a little too much cream. The cream is very light, but it’s almost 2 inches tall, so it feels like toppling over from the cupcake (heavier top than bottom). It’s true that I’d rather have more cream than not enough, but still, I had to remove a little cream for the balance in tastes otherwise it’s an overkill for me.
I will definitely return though when I drive by in the future. They are the freshest cupcakes I’ve ever had by no means.

Preparations for our wedding started 11 months in advance, and even though we had less than 100 guests we wanted to honor each one of them and create a memorable event. We hired a local cake vendor, and one month before our wedding she canceled on us because of a family trip. We then rushed to visit several other bakeries with some not passing our taste test and others not capable to create the design we wanted. Most could not accommodate us on short notice until we finally read the reviews about Patty’s cakes in Fullerton Ca.
We were welcomed by Phillip (Patty’s son) and he immediately understood our needs. The tasting was fabulous and very thorough. Their signature icing is like a delicate mousse with the perfect texture. The design choices and extra custom work fit perfectly for what we were looking for and all on short notice and at very reasonable price. Phillip told us the cake will be made same day to insure it tasted and looked fresh. The combinations we picked were mouthwatering and Phillip helped us all the way to make sure everything would be exactly as we were planning. The delivery fee was very reasonable and the cake showed up on time for our florist to add the fresh flowers. Our guests asked for seconds and the cake was the sweet touch of our sweetest day :)
PS: A full month after the wedding our guests are still commenting on how much they enjoyed our special cake!

The last time I wrote a review for Patty’s was 2011 so I figured it’s about time I write an update. This place still has yet to disappoint! I have been to Patty’s multiple times over the last three years for cupcakes, cake balls and custom cake orders. I have worked with Philip and Bethany on multiple occasions, both of which are incredibly pleasant. The only time Patty’s was unavailable to take an order for me was my son’s 4th birthday, which was really my fault considering I tried to order the cake two weeks in advance of the party. My tips – 1) place your custom cake order at least 4-6 weeks in advance because Patty’s is just that popular! 2) Bring a copy of your party invitation and give it to Patty. I have given artistic freedom to Patty for every one of my cakes based on the invitation I gave her and she has NEVER disappointed!
My mother-in-law and I just placed another custom cake order this morning for my baby shower in 6 weeks. As always, the place was crowded but our customer service was incredible. My son even got his 2 cake balls and of course, he was absolutely in love! Thank you, Patty’s!

Our favorite so far is the Neopolitan and Red Velvet. I do have one gripe with their customer service. One day we called about 10 minutes before closing letting them know we were 10 away from arriving per the GPS and they said they couldn’t guarantee they would still be open, what’s up with that?

There was a lovely young woman who helped me come up with ideas to decorate the cake and when I went to go pick it up, the cake was EXACTLY how she had said it would be. We were recommended to Patty’s Cakes through OC Mining Company. We also met with Patty at the Bridal Shower wonderful wonderful persona.
I met with Phillip for the tasting he was very informative, friendly and always available whether it’s via email or phone.The cupcakes were AMAZING I don’t usually eat frosting, but Patty’s Cakes frosting is delicious not as sweet and heavy just PERFECT!! It was hard to choose :( but we went with the Lemon Raspberry and Carrot Cake for top tier. They created exactly what I asked for which is a plus for me!!!! We will definitely be coming back :D

Patty’s Cakes are the best cupcakes I’ve ever had, and I have had a lot of cupcakes! They are light and fluffy and the icing was more like whipped cream than that heavy icing on other cakes. I also appreciated that they ice them when you order, so I was able to get the Elvis without bacon on top. The cake balls are pretty tasty, too!

helpful, and did an amazing, amazing, amazing job on my wedding cake. They are gay
friendly. They worked within my budget and created such a beautiful 3 tiered white

I planned a 2 year engagement to give me enough time to find the perfect vendors for my special day and Patty’s cake was one of them. I got married a year ago and my guests are still talking about my cake today. I myself am not a cake person. Never really cared for it but when I test tasted Patty’s cake OMG it was de-lious! We couldn’t decide between 2 flavors because it was that good. So they were so nice and said they would do the 2 flavors together so that each guest would have a little bit of chocolate and red velvet in one slice! And the vison of my cake was EXACTLY what I had envisioned for my big day. I was so happy with the quality and service there. original baker told us that they wouldn’t be able to provide the red velvet cake as they’d promised. I
knew that my fiance really wanted the red velvet and since deep red was one of our wedding colors, I was
determined to find it at an affordable price. We searched online and found all of the amazing reviews
about Patty’s Cake’s on here, and booked an appt. with Patty’s for approx. 1.5 months before our wedding
date (03/29/14). We were lucky enough that they still had the ability to accommodate us for that date
with such short notice. We met with Patty and instantly clicked with her- Patty is such a warm,
friendly, creative, helpful business owner- somewhat rare to find such a genuine desire to make the
customers happy. Patty and her staff were amazing at turning our dream wedding cake into a reality, and
she even provided us with several options to keep it within our budget. The tasting of the wedding
cakes, frosting, and fillings was amazing too! We wanted to find a way to have both the chocolate cake
and the red velvet, and since each tier of the cake has two layers with filling in between them
(brilliant!) Patty came up with the idea to have one layer chocolate and one layer red velvet, and we
chose the bavarian cream for the filling- soooo delicious! We also had her light white/ivory icing and
our guests raved that this was the best and most beautiful wedding cake they’d ever had! Patty even
provided a “take home” box for our top tier. :-) Thank you so much Patty and Patty’s crew. I have
already ordered cupcakes from Patty’s since our March 29th wedding, and we plan to use Patty’s for
future cakes as well! (ps- I’d post pictures of the cake on here, but I don’t know how to yet, as this
is my first Yelp review. I wanted to make sure to share my great experience for other Brides out there
and other cake connoisseurs, haha)

Something for everyone, but not easy to find. Way better gluten free cupcake than the gluten free only
bakeries,many gf options along with regular flavors. They don’t have a display of cupcakes because they
frost the cake as you order it, which makes it fresh, but confusing for a first timer. There is a sign
that explains all this, way up on the wall. So look up! You are about to have the best cupcake in
Orange County.

My wedding was back in July and we got our cake at Patty’s! Originally my husband was going to bake our wedding cake all by himself but after a few test cakes and a lot of stress we decided we just had to have someone make one for us. My mother-in-law recommended this place as she had a friend who knows Patty. We had an awesome experience there! We made the drive from Huntington Beach which wasn’t bad at all and once we got there we tried some different cake flavors and various frosting and fillings. I already had a pretty clear picture of what I wanted the cake to look like and Patty was so helpful with choosing exactly the design that I wanted. Orchids were a main decoration at our wedding so we mentioned that we wanted them on the cake and she needed us to bring in the flowers so that they could be placed before they were delivered. Well of course I was so stressed and busy that the day before we didn’t make it over there to drop off the flowers ! My bestie called and talked to them and Patty put them on herself the day of the wedding before my guests had arrived at the wedding reception site. The cake was delicious and affordable for our budget which was tight! It was so pretty and came out exactly like I wanted it! I was so relieved to be in good hands with our cake since it’s such an important aspect of a wedding! Thanks Patty!! So much! I definitely recommend this place to brides add well to everyone! When we were there it was very busy and their delicious cakes and cupcakes are obviously so great that they sell themselves !

I’m in love with cupcakes!! So my sisters bought me two cupcakes from this place and they were amazing!
Neapolitan – has a white cake which was moist, and has a chocolate and strawberry frosting and it was really good. The frosting is not too sweet and it’s really light, not heavy and overbearing. It was great! I normally like very sweet frosting, but the light taste of the frosting worked well with the cake.
Piña Colada – my favorite out of these two. I loved the pineapple filling and the white cake was perfectly baked, not dry at all. The coconut on top tasted fresh and was delicious!
I plan to visit this place myself next time around to try some more!

This place really make their cakes with lots of love! Their cakes are moist and flavorful and don’t me started on how fantastic the frosting is! They made our cake at our wedding last month and it was as beautiful as it was tasty. Our families are not ones who love sweet desserts, so they recommended the lemon cake with raspberry filling and it was AMAZING! The staff is also super friendly too! Superb bakery for all of your cake needs!

My boss got me a baby shower cake from here, so I can only speak of that and nothing of the store.
Patty’s served up a perfectly fluffy chocolate cake with chocolate chips & white frosting with a adorable penguin on skates & a hockey stick. :) So fitting as I love both penguins & my LA Kings! (Who just beat the ducks! But I digress…)
The frosting was fresh cream & everything was the right amount of sweetness. Very light & non-guilt ridden! Hehe. The only flaw I saw was that part of the cake was uneven (to a quarter inch!) & it was covered up by about a inch of frosting to level out with the rest of the cake. Meh, overall it was still pretty spectacular.
Definitely on my to visit list & I’ll keep them on my mind for any future events!

This place is awesome! I bought 3 different cupcakes and a cake ball and they were all delicious! The flavors were lemon raspberry, peanut butter and jelly, banana, and a s’mores cake ball. I loved all of them, and Patty’s gives out coupons and they have a great check-in offer. Like others have said, the cake balls are really big and they’re very moist and dense. They’re the perfect size and indulgence for a satisfying dessert.
I’m such an indecisive person but the guy behind the counter was very patient with me as I stared with my jaw dropped at their huge wall of flavors. The cake balls are behind a glass counter at the front but they frost the cupcakes in the back as soon as you order them. They also offer free fruit infused water and a table to sit at while you’re waiting. Patty’s is great – I’ll definitely keep them in mind the next time I need a cake or cupcakes for an event. They do weddings, too.

Well, the first time I did a review, it didn’t appear, so I will redo and add for the other cupcakes I got since. Last time was last week, I got the Pina Colada, with Coconut frosting, white cake with pineapple filling. Because I wanted to get the bus yet wanted to also eat, I ate outside (missed the first bus, anyhow), which I do not recommend on a windy day. My cupcake blew off the little table, but I ate it anyway (though lost my tiny decorative umbrella/parasol off my cupcake). Santa Ana winds are something to factor in! I enjoyed it a lot; have not been disappointed yet in flavor and moistness. I have not liked cupcakes from other places –they are too dry (Hapcake was OK, though didn’t really have a liquor flavor). I also liked the other cupcakes I’ve had at other times: when they could find my Yelp! review, the nice girl gave me a free cupcake anyway (and everytime lately, I get a buy one get one free coupon, which I had better use). That day I tried Lemon Razzle, because I wanted to taste lemon and raspberry together. That is a great combination, and the cream filling was just right. Before, the first time, I ordered white cake with Mint chip mousse, a favorite of mine and will have again. The texture and moistness and flavor of mousse frosting is outstanding. I also had cake balls –S’Mores was good and so was whatever else I had, but I like the cupcakes better because of the moistness. I also had another cupcake, Eclaire whch was good too. I think I will try the peanut butter next, Neapolitan, banana split chocolate chipper and butter pecan.
Cake looked beautiful, and tasted great!

I ordered a dozen cupcakes, for teacher appreciation week, last minute and they were ready to go by the time I arrived to pick them up. (Within 10 minutes). The teachers all loved them! I also picked up a few for my house. The piña colada is amazing!! The red velvet is a must, and the chocolate caramel is delicious. These cupcakes do not disappoint.
