I had been craving for some cupcakes and finally decided to “Google” cupcake places in the area, and Patty’s Cakes came up. When I was finally in the area, I decided to stop in and pick up some cupcakes. I ended up picking up the Red Velvet and Chocolate with Peanut Butter Mousse Frosting. What I noticed right away upon peeling back the wrapper was how moist these cupcakes were. I thoroughly enjoyed my Chocolate cupcake with the chocolate drizzle and peanut toppings. Yummy!!!

I love Patty’s red velvet cup cakes and cake. The cream cheese mousse is not too heavy, not too sweet, and it goes so well with red velvet! We ordered a red velvet cake for my son’s birthday and the cake was still good after 4 days in the fridge!

Well technically two days ago.. my friend actually took me here and told me that i will fall in love with the cake balls. As much as i didn’t believe her I wanted to try them out just to see if it was true…and guess what?! THEY WERE!!! The cake balls were AMAZINGLY AWESOME! They were so good that we went three times that day just to get our red velvet cake balls ^_^ That first bite just took my breath away…I have never tasted red velvet as good as Patty’s. Usually I have tasted dry red velvet, but Patty’s was moist with a hint of sweetness. After that first try Patty will be seeing your face really soon …I know that they will all be seeing me once again!…in 10 minutes =D By the way they ARE ALL very welcoming! They’re all really nice, you will crack some jokes, there will be laughter, it’ll be fun (I know everytime I go it is) ^_^

I want to send a HUGE thanks for the beautiful cake and mini cupcakes you created for my daughters 1st birthday. Both turned our better than I had even expected and really helped carry the theme of the party through. Everyone was very impressed. But, even more importantly, everything was delicious! We had absolutely no cake or cupcakes left, even though we had made sure to order a cake big enough to accommodate even more that the amount of scheduled guests. People were coming back for seconds and thirds, which I had never seen happen before with birthday cake. Best of all, my daughter really enjoyed smashing & eating her very first taste of cake – it was the best. Thank you again & you have a return customer for sure!

As many others have said, this place is hidden. It’s in the Albertson’s parking lot and the store front is facing Commonwealth. When I entered, there was no cupcakes in the display case, just the cake balls. I was greeted by a guy, who was very nice. I asked if they still had the yelp deal and he said yes and that I was probably the 5th person within the hour that came in asking about the deal.
He gave me a sheet with the cupcake selections and he said they will frost the cupcakes to order. I made my selection quickly (red velvet, white cake with chocolate fudge, chocolate cake with peanut butter mousse, and banana with cream), and he said they have them out soon and to help myself to the complimentary beverages. I wasn’t thirsty at the time so I didn’t take advantage of it. While I waited for my cupcakes, a woman and her daughter walked in, to pick up a cake for a birthday. I would have to say the cake she purchased looked delicious. Soon after she left, the guy behind the counter presented me with my cupcakes which were nicely decorated.
Once I got home I wanted to dig into one of the cupcakes, so I picked red velvet. The frosting on the cupcake isn’t like most places, it seem more like a whipped cream topping and many other places it’s like royal icing. I cut the cupcake in half, I don’t like eating a whole cupcake in one sitting, and plus I know my sister would want to eat some because that is her favorite favor of cake. What I found in the center was surprising, there was cream in the center! The cake was moist and fluffy, a big plus for me and the frosting wasn’t too sweet. Even my mom, who is not a cupcake fan or even a dessert fan like the cupcakes, thought the cupcakes were pretty good, she picked the chocolate cake with PB mousse. I had a bite of the choco with PB mousse, it was great, the frosting had a nice PB taste. The banana cake, on the other hand was not my favorite, the cake didn’t have a very banana taste to it, the cream on top wasn’t too bad but it more of a Bavarian cream texture and taste, somewhat pudding/custard like.
Even after 4 days, I cut opened the last cupcake, white cake with choco fudge, the cake was a little moist still. Though, I think it had to do with the cream in the center that helped maintain the moisture. Overall, I would go back to this place again. Maybe even buy a cake for a birthday.
I got an asortment of their cupcakes for my family and we all loved them.

“This place is hidden and it really shouldn’t be! I have to say, this place doesn’t look like much when you first walk up, but their cupcake and other desserts definitely make up for it. First off, their customer service is excellent! I was greeted right away by a super friendly lady who just seemed so happy to be there. She was very helpful when it came to deciding which cupcakes I should pick. It didn’t seem like she was trying to push something on me, she really wanted me to be happy. Second, a few other people came in afterward and while they were acknowledge they never forgot I had arrived first. That may sound a bit trivial, but sometimes when a business knows they will gain more profit off another customer, they tend to ignore the customer that came first, NOT Patty-Cakes.
I think I was able to order almost every cupcake! I used my Groupon, LOVE Groupon, so I got a good deal! I like their cupcakes, small little places like this need to be recognized for their work! =)”

The whole creation is a perfect balance of sweetness and the cake is more moist than dry. I gave them 4 instead of 5 stars for two reasons. “I have been coming back since my first review. I can’t stop. I have since fallen in love with Red Velvet and will not try anything else. They are very good. The size of the cupcakes are now bigger since they first opened. The Red Velvet with Cream Cheese Frosting just melts in your mouth. It does not taste like chocolate, it tastes like red velvet. And the frosting is delicious, not to heavy or sweet. What I love the most about this venue is how friendly all the staff are. Our conversations always take up where we left off.
