[Review] Moist and Perfectly Light Cupcakes

We got our wedding cake from here. We were looking for a cake that is not super sugary but still flavorful. We had several cake places lined up to visit, and as soon as we tasted their cake, we canceled the rest of cake tasting appointments because we felt we didn’t need to look further. If you are looking for good moist cake/cupcakes with fluffy/airy perfectly/lightly sweetened whipped cream-like frosting(not a fan of butter cream frosting) – something that are not just completely just loaded with sugar- this is your place. We got banana cake with cream cheese frosting(more like dense whipped cream with hint of cream cheese notes) + chocolate chips..and all the guests complimented on our cake. We went back few times already to get cupcakes after out wedding already, and we will continue to visit. I’m craving one right now. Yummmm!

We selected Patty’s cakes for our wedding last May. It was a raspberry/lemon flavor. When questioned about where we were getting our wedding cake, and answering “Patty’s Cakes in Fullerton”, there were only favorable “ooo’s” and “aahhhs.” When delivered, the cake did NOT disappoint. Since then we have been back for a selection of their cupcakes. DELICIOUS !!!

Delivered as promised on our wedding day. We got many compliments on our cake, we chose the white cake with raspberry filling. We were worried that we would be left with a lot of cake but it was all gone after the reception because guests got multiple servings.Very happy with the service, they made it easy to taste the different flavor combinations available and estimate amounts based on our guest count. I absolutely loved my cake because it was exactly as I asked for. Patty’s cakes provided great service from Philip who helped us decide on a design and size. Patty’s fit our budget and we didn’t lose out on taste. I’m happy we chose them for our cake and would recommend them to others.

Banana cake.

I wanted to start off with that because their banana cake was heavenly. Even my now husband who usually doesn’t like banana-flavored pastries liked it! The cake was so moist and fluffy while the fillings (custard and raspberry) added that extra oomph if you get what I’m saying. I’m sure this was a tad strange combination but my husband liked the tarty flavor the raspberry filling added to the overall flavor of the cake. Their cream is SO GOOD. It’s the perfect amount of sweet! We got a semi-naked 3 tier cake for our wedding and it came out great! Philip was so helpful and accommodating when we were deciding what to get. He told us that the cake could be a little dry since the nature of a semi-naked cake allows it to be exposed more leading to drying out but I didn’t notice it at all!

Besides the UH-MAZING cake, the whole process of ordering the cake was a breeze. Philip is extremely helpful and you can tell he knows what he’s doing. He made sure we would have the right amount of cake and they also adjust the size of your sheet cake as your guest list gets finalized. The prices were reasonable and totally worth the cake.

Did I mention the banana cake was amazing?
