[Review] Moist and Perfectly Light Cupcakes

We got our wedding cake from here. We were looking for a cake that is not super sugary but still flavorful. We had several cake places lined up to visit, and as soon as we tasted their cake, we canceled the rest of cake tasting appointments because we felt we didn’t need to look further. If you are looking for good moist cake/cupcakes with fluffy/airy perfectly/lightly sweetened whipped cream-like frosting(not a fan of butter cream frosting) – something that are not just completely just loaded with sugar- this is your place. We got banana cake with cream cheese frosting(more like dense whipped cream with hint of cream cheese notes) + chocolate chips..and all the guests complimented on our cake. We went back few times already to get cupcakes after out wedding already, and we will continue to visit. I’m craving one right now. Yummmm!

We selected Patty’s cakes for our wedding last May. It was a raspberry/lemon flavor. When questioned about where we were getting our wedding cake, and answering “Patty’s Cakes in Fullerton”, there were only favorable “ooo’s” and “aahhhs.” When delivered, the cake did NOT disappoint. Since then we have been back for a selection of their cupcakes. DELICIOUS !!!

Delivered as promised on our wedding day. We got many compliments on our cake, we chose the white cake with raspberry filling. We were worried that we would be left with a lot of cake but it was all gone after the reception because guests got multiple servings.Very happy with the service, they made it easy to taste the different flavor combinations available and estimate amounts based on our guest count. “Soooo good!” That’s what we said at our cake tasting and what our guests said at our wedding. After going through her cake photo album online, I found “the cake” and made an appointment for a tasting. Our tasting was so intimate, no distractions, complete focus on us, it was great. After showing Patty, yes the owner was doing our tasting, the style we liked, she brought our different flavors. My fiancé at the time requested a red velvet cake with cream cheese cake frosting. We tasted a lot of red velvet cakes at other tastings, but there was no denying this was the very best. Not only was the cake super moist, but it didn’t taste like dye. It was very light and airy, unlike the dense ones before, and the frosting was not a heavy buttercream, but rather a whipped, light frosting. We loved it so much that we couldn’t wait for the wedding to taste it again so we grabbed some red velvet cupcakes shortly before the wedding. Patty suggested bringing some of the orchids I would be using in my wedding to her so they could be placed on the cake, and I’m glad she did because it looked gorgeous. After tasting her cakes, there will be no contest! Thank you, Patty!

The cupcakes we had were great and our individual wedding cake was great as well. They provided the tower for the cupcakes and everyone loved them! Couldn’t stop raving about them!

My husband and I used Patty’s Cakes for our wedding cake and we were so pleased. They were so easy to work with and did exactly what we wanted for a great price. For weeks leading up to our wedding, I was looking forward to the cake and it did not disappoint. So many of our guests complimented us on how great the cake looked and tasted. Their icing is nice and light, the cake is moist, and they have a great selection of fillings to choose from. I will definitely be using them again for other occasions and we can’t wait for our anniversary cake.
