[Review] Moist and delicious 25th anniversary cake

Jose A. - Anaheim, CA - 5 Star rating via Yelp

The place was little. At first glance, it didn’t look like much.

Once inside you start to feel like you’ve found a special place.

My mom and dads 25th wedding anniversary was the following week and I had offered to get the cake. I wanted the cake to be special. This year, my wife and I got married, so I consider myself a bit of an expert on cakes, we tried hundreds and spent time looking and researching.

The first thing anyone should know, anything with the word “wedding” in it will automatically jump in price.

Anyway, Patty’s was the only place that accepted making a cake with one week’s notice. The problem was that they didn’t have the staff available with one week’s notice to make it a tiered cake. Which was a bummer for us but we were glad they could accommodate is and were upfront from the start.

Once we were inside we saw multiple people inside the little shop everyone was picking up cakes. We were greeted and sat at the little table they have next to the window.

The first thing that catches your eyes is the wall of photographs of happy wedding couples who have come to buy cakes from Patty. Including a couple NFL players.

They have a display of different cake styles and cupcakes. The prices are also located on the wall along with all the flavors and fillings.

When it was our turn to come up and order, we told her what we wanted which was a 2 tier cake for about 50 people. She checked with the staff and told us that they would be unable to make the 2 tier on account of the staffing being booked up with other cake orders especially since ours was a week away. We understood and she proceeded to give us other options. One cake caught my eye and I suggested it to my wife which she agreed with.

The look of it was different but pretty, with a rustic feel to it. We chose the Bavarian Creme and Chocolate Marble I believe. The total for the cake was 60 dollars, which to me was very feasible and honestly cheap.

I just hoped it would taste good and make my
Mom proud, after looking at Yelp I knew that this place and this cake would be special.

The day of the wedding vow renewal came and I picked up the cake. We had chosen to get the top pretty plane because my wife would decorate it with flowers.

My mom loved the look of the cake.
When we finally came around to distributing the cake and eat it. Man! I’m not a cake fan at all. I rather have me some cheesecake, but this cake was delicious.

Moist and the frosting was just right.
I told my wife, we should have got our $1000 wedding cake at Patty’s we probably would have saved money and it would have been delicious.
