We have been buying cakes from Pattycake since she has been in business, about 25 years I think! We speak highly of her cakes to anyone who will listen. Went by this Saturday to pick up a birthday cake for our grandaughter Emma and decided to try Patty’s cupcakes. The new Lemon Drop is to die for! Okay- this review has been long over due. I’ve had the honor of tasting several cupcakes and cakes from Patty’s Cakes at several different functions: housewarming parties, graduation parties, birthday parties…you catch my drift – and let me tell you – Patty’s Cakes does not disappoint!! From decadent red velvet to rich chocolate with peanut butter mousse, these baked goodies are melt-in-your-mouth delicious and oh so moist.
I was finally able to make it in to the shop not too long ago for my cake taste testing. This shop is soooo CUTE! I felt like a kid in a candy store. And OMG…the cake balls are seriously to die for. I had a s’mores cake ball and I don’t think I’ve ever tasted anything better- seriously!
Patty’s Cakes will be doing my wedding cake in September and I’m so excited to see and taste it!

I went to try the cake balls. They were really delicious, but I’m not sure it was worth $3. I bought three, and it came out to $9 + tax, etc. I’m not sure I’d sacrifice an entire meal for 3 cake balls? Anyway, the cake balls are really dense and rich. This could be a pro and a con depending on how way you see it, but they were really moist.

These cupcakes are unbelievably moist, and the icing so light! Sooo yummy! The chocolate chambord mousse was to die for. Gotta try each one, especially the cake balls. I can’t wait to go back! And Patty is so appreciative for me dropping by, like an old friend. It was a very pleasant experience. And they even have an ice cold drink for free!

MY GOODNESS!!! This is what changed my mind about all cake pops/balls… This was just straight up BOMB!!! I’m a s’mores type of person to begin with and well, this was SA-TIS-FY-ING…. I almost made a u-turn to purchase a few more but told myself one is enough.. for now at least haha.
Red Velvet Cake Ball
Nothing too special about this one… I think the cake itself could’ve had more of a coca taste to it, because the white chocolate coating was over-powering the cake. All I tasted was the white chocolate coating.
OVERALL: I would love to come back and try the other few flavors they had in their display case.

We bought a dozen cakeballs with the Groupon coupon. They are delicious and just the right amount of a sweet after dinner. The cakeballs look small but don’t be fooled by appearances. They satisfied 15 year old boys at a birthday party and there was no fussing with cakes and plates!
